I’d like to do research on Herb Ritts. Does the Foundation have an archive that I can use or scholars I can consult?

No, unfortunately the Foundation does not make available research facilities and personnel at this time. For more information about the artist, please try libraries and bookstores in your area.

Can the general public view artworks by Herb Ritts that the Foundation currently owns?

No. The Foundation does not have a public exhibition space. Many of Ritts’ works can be found in galleries throughout the U.S. Please visit our ‘Events’ page for updated information on current and upcoming exhibitions.

Where can I purchase an original photograph by Herb Ritts?

I'd like to use Ritts' imagery in an advertisement, for licensed merchandise or in other commercial ways. How can I get permission to do this?

Where can I get permission for the usage (syndication) of Herb Ritts images in a magazine spread?

Please contact Trunk Archive(www.trunkarchive.com), the agency that handles all Herb Ritts licensing.

Can I buy Ritts related merchandise, such as T-shirts, posters, postcards, note cards etc from the Foundation?

No. The Foundation does not sell these products directly, but does license the reproduction of Herb Ritts’ work to merchandisers for use on various products.

Can you tell me how much my original Herb Ritts photograph is worth? What are the current selling prices of his art works?

The Herb Ritts Foundation does not appraise Herb Ritts' artwork. If you want a professional appraisal, contact the appraisal department of the auction houses Christie's (212-546-1000) or Sotheby's (212-606-7000).

Does the Foundation loan out Herb Ritts artwork for qualified museum exhibitions?

Yes. Please submit your request in writing, by fax (323-466-5901) or by email to info@herbritts.com.

Does the Foundation donate works of art to charity organizations?

Yes, on a case-by-case basis. The organization must meet the Foundation’s mandated objectives to be considered. Only 501c(3) organizations are eligible. Please contact the Foundation via fax (323-466-5901) or via email at info@herbritts.com.

Does the Herb Ritts Foundation purchase artwork by Ritts or other artists?

No, but it does sell Herb Ritts' work to select museums, galleries and private collectors. Potential purchasers may fax (323-466-5901) or email the Foundation office (info@herbritts.com).

Does the Foundation accept gifts or Herb Ritts’ artwork or memorabilia?

Yes, please contact the Foundation via email at info@herbritts.com.

Does the Herb Ritts Foundation give grants to individual artists?

The Foundation does not give grants to individuals. To research grant opportunities for individual artists, please call Visual Artist Info Hotline (800-232-2798 Mon-Fri, 2-5pm EST).

Does the Herb Ritts Foundation give grants to organizations outside the United States?

No. The Foundation grants funding only to organizations within the United States.
